ButterShare

ButterShare is a free browser-based file transfer tool that lets you send large files directly between devices without uploading them to cloud storage first. It uses WebRTC for peer-to-peer transfers, allowing compatible devices to transfer files directly through the browser. There is no account required, no app to install, and no traditional cloud-storage file size limit. ButterShare works across Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and iPhone. Simply select a file, generate a share link or QR code, and open it on the receiving device to start the transfer. It is useful for sending large videos, RAW photos, project files, backups, and everyday files between devices—especially when moving files across different ecosystems such as iPhone to Windows or Android to Mac.
